These authentic Niʻihau shell earrings are handcrafted in the traditional Poepoe style, where each tiny shell is strung one at a time to create a rounded, textured design. The soft blend of Kahelelani Keʻokeʻo (white), ʻŌmaʻomaʻo (light green), and ʻUlaʻula (red burgundy) shells creates a naturally elegant look that reflects the beauty of Hawaiʻi.
In Hawaiian, Keʻokeʻo refers to “white,” but in Kahelelani shells this is what I often call the natural color — a creamy base with delicate pink bands that circle the shell. It’s the most common Kahelelani shade, loved for its warmth and subtle glow that pairs beautifully with other natural tones.
