Laiki, also known as Rice shells, are shaped similar to grains of rice. Laiki shells are commonly used in Niihau shell jewelry. Individual shells measure approximately 9 mm in length and 5 mm in diameter. The Laiki comes in many colors, but mostly in shades of yellow or light brown. Pearl white and blue Momi shells can be found but they are quite unique so harder to find. Laiki shells typically wear a very pronounced and beautiful luster.
