These type of shells have very thick skin and a little bit harder to poke the hole than other Kahelelani shells color. When you poke this color Kahelelani shells, you will need to just poke the shell enough to have a tiny hole to start then poke it again to expand the size of the hole. If you try to poke the hole to the size you prefer the first time, more time than not it will break the shell. I hope this tip is help ^-^
