Handcrafted in the elegant 4-strand Poepoe tie style, these earrings are made with genuine Kahelelani shells (ニイハウ カヘレラニ シェル) from Niʻihau. The shells feature a soft, matte finish that highlights their natural beauty and organic texture.
In Hawaiian, ʻāhiehie means “pale” or “light,” describing the delicate tone seen in some of the shells. This soft, natural variation reflects the ocean’s gentle touch — where each shell tells its own story of time and tide.
Sometimes shells gathered from beaches with rougher sand develop this matte texture, where the ocean softly reduces their luster. It’s this natural weathering that gives every pair its own personality — no two are ever the same.
