This one-of-a-kind lei is a unique combination of two traditional Niʻihau styles: the Kipona style, where Momi and Kahelelani shells are blended together, and the Crown Flower (Pīkake) style, which mimics the clustered softness of the pīkake blossom.

The majority of the lei is created in the Kipona style, with Momi and Kahelelani shells intricately strung in the pīkake tying technique. One special section is crafted in the Crown Flower style, featuring golden Lenalena Momi shells that add texture, contrast, and variation. This thoughtful blend of patterns creates a lei that feels both traditional and refreshingly unique.

The Momi shells (モミシェル) featured include:

  • White Keʻokeʻo

  • Black-spotted ʻŌnikiniki ʻEleʻele

  • Yellow Lenalena

  • Blue ʻUliʻuli Ikaika (ブルーモミシェル)

Accented by Kahelelani shells (カヘレラニシェル) in:
Green ʻŌmaʻomaʻo, pink ʻĀkala Pua, burgundy Mākuʻe, black ʻEleʻele, natural white Keʻokeʻo, and red ʻĀkala ʻĀhiehie.

Each shell is carefully selected for quality, luster, and shape. The combination of two traditional styles in one lei celebrates both the artistry of Niʻihau and the contemporary creativity of Hawaiian shellwork.
