This triple-strand long Niʻihau shell lei (ニイハウシェル レイ) is one of my favorite pieces I’ve ever created — a true statement necklace often seen in hula dance (フラダンス), Hawaiian performances, and formal cultural wear. It is a one-of-a-kind piece that I may never have the shells in these colors and sizes to create again. The blend of Momi and Kahelelani shells shows beautiful harmony and color balance, and if you look closely, you’ll see how carefully each shell was chosen for uniformity and flow. In person, the lei is even more stunning than the photos — a truly beautiful piece of Niʻihau shell art.
