This exquisite handcrafted lei is a timeless expression of Niʻihau shell artistry (ニイハウシェル ジュエリー). Created in the classic Pikake style, it features five strands of Grade A Momi shells (モミシェル), each carefully selected for exceptional quality, luster, and natural beauty.
This is one of my favorite pieces. It took me a long time to collect Momi shells in these rare colors and matching sizes to complete this lei. It is truly a statement piece for anyone who loves Niʻihau shell lei and appreciates the artistry behind Hawaiian shellwork.
The Momi palette includes rare and highly prized tones such as blue ʻUliʻuli, brown-striped ʻŌnikiniki ʻĀhiehie, deep Lenalena yellow, soft light Lenalena yellow, and pure Keʻokeʻo white. Every shell is chosen for brilliance and uniformity, then woven into the soft, clustered Pikake form — a traditional design celebrated for elegance, harmony, and cultural significance.
With five strands that drape gracefully and move gently with the wearer, this lei is more than handcrafted jewelry. It is a true piece of Hawaiian heritage, created with patience, skill, and aloha.
