Mixed Color Kahelelani Shells – Size 14 and Larger – 500 pcs + Poepoe Earring Instructions
Origin of Shells: Niʻihau
Quantity: 500 shells
Quality: Assorted, unpoked, mixed color
Size: 14 and larger (large size)
This is a beautiful collection of mixed color Kahelelani shells, gathered from several beaches on Niʻihau island. Some shells have a high, beautiful luster, while others have a matte finish with rich, deep hues. This set includes larger-sized Kahelelani shells, which are easier to work with—perfect if you’re creating intricate Niʻihau shell jewelry.
Keep in mind that the smallest Kahelelani shells found on the beach are around size 9, and even full-grown shells are often smaller than a head pin. These size 14+ shells are considered large in comparison and ideal for beginners and experienced crafters alike.
Poepoe (Tied) Style Instructions Included
This set comes with a simple, step-by-step instruction guide for making poepoe (tied) style shell earrings using two colors of Kahelelani shells to create a beautiful spiral pattern.
Please note:
-
These instructions are meant to guide and inspire. I recommend practicing an inch of poepoe style before completing a full piece.
-
Instructions are not sold separately, out of respect for this precious Hawaiian art form and to avoid conflicts with other vendors.
