These 1 3/4" earrings, about 1/4" thick, are handcrafted in the elegant four-strand Poepoe tie style. Strung with 100% genuine Niʻihau Kahelelani shells (ニイハウ カヘレラニ シェル), they display a beautiful natural luster, glowing with the richness of Hawaiʻi’s shell colors.
The arrangement blends Keʻokeʻo (white), ʻŌmaʻomaʻo ʻIkaika (dark green, where ikaika means “strong” or “intense”), ʻUlaʻula (red/burgundy), Mākuʻe (brown), ʻĀkala ʻĀhiehie (soft pink), and ʻĀkala Pua (pink flower).
In Hawaiian, Keʻokeʻo translates to “white,” but with Kahelelani shells, this shade is rarely a pure white. Instead, it often appears as a creamy natural tone, sometimes with delicate soft pink blush or light brown rings circling the shell. It is the most common Kahelelani color, yet one of the most beautiful in its natural variations.
