Aloha and welcome to Hawaiian Seashells Information.

This space is dedicated to learning about other Hawaiian seashells used in Niʻihau and Hawaiian shell jewelry beyond Momi and Kahelelani. Here, you’ll find educational articles and visual guides covering shell types such as Laiki, Puka, Poleho, and other Hawaiian shells used in traditional and contemporary jewelry.

This section is designed to grow over time as more shell types are introduced and shared. Much of the information comes from hands-on experience, observation, and years of working with Hawaiian shells. My hope is that this space helps you better understand the variety of shells used in Hawaiian shell jewelry, how they are used, and what makes each one special.
