"The gems of the ocean". I have been informed that these incredibly unique, priceless shells, are the only shells in the world that can be insured. I am very discerning when it comes to the shells I use in my jewelry as well as the shells I sell to my clients. I grade every shell. Some customers prefer to buy the lesser grade shells that I do not use. I respect that and it always makes me happy when those shells find a new home. Other shells I set aside and I gift them to my customers so they can practice with them. Too frequently I see other artists using shells with holes in them. Such shells will ultimately break free from the piece and believe me, you do not want that. Frequently I am commissioned to repair such jewelry. It's an expensive and timely process. Nobody wins.
This is all very personaI to me: I am the designer of my creations and I do not copy the work of others. I spend countless hours sorting and weaving every shell into the piece that you will hopefully find to your liking. To keep costs down, I model my jewelry and I also take my own pictures. I am the person you will speak with as we create that special gift for yourself or a loved one. I am also the person that carefully wraps each item in preparation for shipping. When my jewelry reaches its destination, my client is literally the second person to ever touch that particular piece! My goal is to create top-quality, heirloom jewelry that will ultimately be passed on to your loved ones. Yep, my name is Janjira but Hawaii is who I am. : )
