This set features light green Kahelelani shells (ʻŌmaʻomaʻo) from Niʻihau, perfect for creating traditional Hawaiian-style jewelry such as Poepoe, Pikake, or herringbone designs. Their natural matte finish gives each shell a soft, organic look that works beautifully in both single-strand and multi-strand layouts.
For your crafting reference: a single-strand herringbone style uses about 17 shells per inch, while a 4-strand herringbone design may require around 60 shells per inch. The lei shown in the photos was made using this same set of shells and is included for reference only.
